FREE Interactive Children's Concert

We continue our annual tradition of a free concert to introduce area children to the sounds and instruments of a concert band -- perfect for 4- to 9-year olds. The unique format of this concert, presented in the gym of the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield, lets kids get up close to the band and to touch and try the instruments at the "petting zoo" following the performance.

This year's concert explores the many ways that music moves us, eliciting strong feelings and literally setting us in motion -- from the slightest head bob to a jubilant dance.

Songs we will be performing include:

Belle of the Ball - L. Anderson
Light Cavalry Overture - arr. H. Fillmore
Oblivion - A. Piazzolla, arr. R. Longfield
The Summit - J. Moss
Powerhouse - R. Scott, arr. P. Murtha
Those Fabulous Flutes - J. Bullock
Stars and Stripes Forever - J.P. Sousa
Clarinets Allegro - F.D. Cofield
Take the "A" Train - arr. B. Lowden
Five to Go - J. Bullock
Travelin' Music - R. Sheldon
The Trombone King - K.L. King
The Great Locomotive Chase - R.W. Smith
Fantasy on American Sailing Songs - C. Grundman

How will YOU be moved?
